The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) set new standards for electronic health care transactions. We are familiar with HIPAA standards, and create our healthcare websites to conform with HIPAA. All healthcare websites we host feature a HIPPA compliant privacy statement on every page. The privacy statement assures visitors that any information submitted through the website will be kept confidential.

Whenever any personal data is collected by a website form, such as ask a doctor or patient billing information, we require the site to have a digital certificate installed on the site. Installation of a digital certificate ensures that any information sent to your web server is encrypted or scrambled, making it impossible to intercept or steal. The certificate also displays the identity of you the website owner so that your patients can verify that their information is being sent securely. We prefer using Thawte’s certificate which connects at 128 bit, 56 bit or 40 bit depending on the end user’s browser capability.

Spam Is BadWe also take a strict stance on spam and are implementing techniques to help reduce the amount of spam sent to our clients. We developed the site SpamIsBad, to help educate the community on what they can do to prevent spam. We do not allow sites we host to engage in the practice of spamming.
